Carnivores: Ice Age Goes FREE For The First Time

Carnivores: Ice Age (Universal iPhone/iPad) ain't your standard shooter. Instead of mowing down aliens or zombies, you're hunting big baddies from Earth's distant past in a manner similar to (but more fun than) those Cabela's hunting sim games your redneck uncle plays.

AppSpy: 4/5 "Carnivores: Ice Age isn't for the action-pumped shooter fan out to bag ancient predators, rather it's a challenging and (despite the theme) relaxing way to spend your time. It's a shame that some AI quirks can ruin the experience early on, but once you're down the rabbit hole it's easy to find hours shaved off your day."

No Dpad: "Buy"  "Carnivores Ice Age is a much harder game to get into for beginners and people that haven’t played the first one.  And if you have played the first one—like me—the game is still significantly more difficult.  It doesn’t help that the pistol is way underpowered in that it takes 3-4 hits to take down even the easiest animal."

SlideToPlay: 3/4  "While hunting, you must pay attention to the wind direction, the noises you make by crunching through the snow, and the fact that a hunter with a weapon is a frightening sight to some creatures-- but an appetizing sight to others. Every animal behaves differently, and it becomes very useful to know if an animal will flee or charge when injured. A feature that we really appreciated is the ability to relocate to anywhere on the map, avoiding the need to jog endlessly across the tundra."
