Need a free game to go with your new stash of Bubba Kush and/or that cut of psilocybin you picked up the other day? Well, The Plateau (iPhone) may be just the thing.

IGN: 8.5/10 "The Plateau is achingly beautiful. The spacescapes in the background are straight out of Carl Sagan's imagination. The nodes and threads are clear and easy to both see and manipulate. The front-end menu is just alien enough to set the tone. And that music... Composed by Sergei Starko originally for a Quake III mod, the score is essential for the mood."

How Do I Decide What Sales To Cover?

This blog is geared toward the hardcore bargain-hunter looking for the best sales out there, on the best games on the App Store. Generally, iOS games tend to drop to either $0.99 or free eventually, if not very quickly after their release. As such, I do not generally cover sales that aren't at either of those price points, unless the game is clearly well reviewed, highly polished, and has never dropped below its current "sale" price.

Furthermore, if a game is on sale for $0.99 but has been free several times in the past, I'll wait until it goes free again before posting about it. Why needlessly spend your hard-earned dough when you probably have a backlog of 50 games anyway?

Finally, a note about reviews: For a paid game, I look for a game that has been generally critically acclaimed among independent, reputable review websites. Review websites I may use include Eurogamer, SlideToPlay, 148Apps, AppSpy, and so forth, but not "Billy Bob's iPhone Review Blog"-quality sites. For free games, my standards are a little more lax, since all they cost you is a bit of (temporary?) hard drive space.

Oh, and one more thing: I absolutely, positively DO NOT accept money, free copies of games, or anything else that might influence my inclination to post about a game, ever.
